Wild Minds Forest School

Sharing Ideas. Sharing Excitement. Sharing Community.

Welcome to Wild Minds Forest School, where we believe in the endless benefits of learning in a natural environment. Our sessions offer an approach to childhood education, with a focus on learner-led learning, long-term observation, and guidance from our leaders in keeping with the Forest School ethos. We aim to provide a space where children feel comfortable to explore, learn, and develop, improving their confidence, resilience, and physical wellbeing. Our forest school sessions are designed to give children an insight into the natural world and foster a lifelong love of the outdoors.

Join the Forest School community now at Blondin Park Forest School and explore the wonders of nature, delivered by Sarah at Wild Minds Forest School!

Shana, mum of twin sons (5) and daughter (7)

Thanks so much for a wonderful day, the kids cannot stop talking about it and asked if it was on again today!

They loved it, it was their best club of the year for sure, you're totally amazing at what you do!

Flora, mum of two boys
(5 and 7)

I just wanted to say a huge thanks you for the last two days. It's been a really valuable and memorable  experience for my boys, and it's clear to see how much work and care you put into making that space so special and exciting for them (both boys genuinely thought they were in a real forest even though they know Blondin inside and out!). I wish he could go to Forest school every day, it certainly suits him better than the classroom!

Joe, dad of two
(3 and 7)

Thanks so much for a great party yesterday, Ted had such a good time, as did I! Best party out there!

Why forest school?

There are many benefits to forest school and spending time outdoors which are backed up by both practice and research. Ten which stand out to us and motivate us when we work with children (and adults!) are:

  • encouraging problem solving

  • extending vocabulary

  • building resilience

  • improving gross and fine motor skills

  • supporting creativity

  • reducing/preventing anxiety and depression

  • relieving stress

  • increasing knowledge about nature

  • improving confidence

  • fostering a love for the natural environment

To find out more about Forest schools and the benefits it provides, there's a number of resources online such as the FSA, Forest Research and Forestry England.
